This black and white abstract print consists of a central form, a black almost square-shape with a wavy top edge and curvy areas within. A curved black line appears in the upper right portion of the work. Random dashes of black appear throughout the background of the print from the carving of the linoleum.

Lavender silk crepe damask (rinsu) with woven mottled cloud-like pattern; designs in surihaku over yûzen: brocade and silk metallic thread embroidery. Lining is plain weave white silk above, second inner lining of white satin damask with woven design of chysanthemums on sayagata ground below. Lined with kimono fabric.

An open door looks into the dark interior, the exterior wall is hung with fishing equipment, perhaps buoys, among others. There is a pile of other gear in the right foreground including a lobster trap.
